Srinagar: Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) President, Abdul Qayoom Wani Thursday termed the implementation of SRO 220 of 2015 and article 77-D of JKCSR on newly appointed employees as illogical and illegal.
According to the statement, EJAC president said that by implementing the SRO, rights of these employees are being violated by paying them minimum wages. This order has not been justified for 5 years, he said, adding that the said SRO violates the law of equal work equal wages.
Wani said that it is doubly unfortunate that Gazetted cadre has been exempted from the SRO but the builders of the nation working in Gazetted cadre as +2 lecturers has been given step-mother treatment by implementing the said SRO on them which speaks the volumes of double standard of the Govt.
We are not against the exemption of gazetted cadre from said SRO but at the same time we wont allow the step motherly treatment to the highly qualified and meritorious +2 lecturers of Education Department, he said.
Wani said that Article 77-D of JKCSR has badly hited in service teachers who have qualified the Public Service Commission (Exam) through proper channel nod have been deprived from pay protection which is totally injustice to the builders of the nation.
He demanded immediate withdrawal of SRO 220 of 2015 & scraping of Article 77-D of JKCSR.
Wani urged upon the Chief Minister Mtr Mehbooba Mufti Education Minister, Syed Altaf Bukhari and Chief Secretary B.B. Viyas for their personal intervention so that the newly recruited employees may get justice and a sigh of relief.
