Handwara: Asking New Delhi to learn lessons from the celebrations held all across Kashmir after Pakistans victory over India in Champions Trophy, AIP Supremo and MLA Langate Er. Sheikh Rashid Monday said that the anti-India sentiment has deepened further here cutting across political, sectarian or any other lines.
In a statement issued to press, firebrand legislator said, It is strange that Indian TV channels are still trying to distort the facts and putting their own narratives and fabricated versions of the whole story.
The way Kashmiris celebrated Pakistans victory over India in Champions Trophy, not only in cities and towns, but in the remotest hamlets from Kupwara to Kishtawar, proved beyond doubt that New Delhi is ruling through the barrel of gun over them and has miserably failed to win hearts and minds of even those who had some soft corner for New Delhi in Kashmir.”
It is strange that even large number of cops belonging to local police were praying and praising for Pakistan which is an ample proof that New Delhis grip on Kashmir is now only through the courtesy of military might. The celebrations have proved like a referendum against Indias arrogance, Rashid said.
Saying that the sports should always be delinked from politics, MLA said Kashmiris are not enemies of India but it is New Delhi and its aggressive media which has, what he described as shamelessly and without a logic used cricket to score political points. Even so called political experts were abusing Pakistan after its victory over England.
