Pulwama: Authorities on Saturday imposed restrictions in parts of Srinagar and South Kashmir while the rest of the valley observed complete shutdown against the civilian killings by government forces on Friday.
The restrictions were imposed in the sensitive areas of the Valley including Srinagar where areas falling under the jurisdiction of five Police Stations including Khanyar, Nowhatta, Safakadal, M R Gunj and Rainawari were sealed off to prevent protests
Two civilian protesters- a 22-year old youth, a 14-year old boy-were killed in firing by the security forces when protesters tried to break the cordon around a gunfight site in Arwani area in South Kashmir on Friday while one more youth was shot dead by SSB personnel in Srinagar outskirts a day earlier.
Two slain youth and the three militants killed in the Arwani encounter were laid to rest amid massive protests in their ancestral villages on Saturday.

Tens of thousands of people on Saturday participated in the funeral prayers of slain Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Junaid Mattu in Khudwani village of Qaimoh tehsil of Anantnag district.
Such was the size of the crowd that four back to back funerals were held for Mattu at a local Eidgah.

Thousands of mourners also participated in the last rites of Mattus associate Nasir Ahmed Malik at Hef Shirmal in Shopain disrict.
At least ten militants appeared at the funeral of Naseer and gave him a gun-salute. Among the militants present at the funeral was Saddam Paddar, a top Hizb commander. He also fired several shots in air. The militants also shouted slogans at the funeral of Nasir and later vanished from the scene.
Thousands of people participated in the funeral prayers of third militant Adil Mir at Frestbal Pampore. The funeral prayers were held at a local sports ground where mourners continued to pour in from various parts of south Kashmir.

At least five militants appeared at the funeral and offered a gun-salute.
Meanwhile, a huge contingent of police and paramilitary personnel were deployed on the roads in Srinagar and other sensitive areas to prevent protests.
The police and paramilitary soldiers had blocked road intersections with concertina wires.
All the shops, colleges and schools and business establishments remained closed while the traffic was off the roads. Majority of the roads wore deserted look.
Train services between Baramulla and Bannihal towns remained suspended for the second day. Exams scheduled for Saturday were postponed by Kashmir University.
