New DelhiJawaharlal Institute of Post-Graduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) has made an announcement regarding counselling for the MBBS admissions to be done this year.
The notification on the website states that the details regarding counselling, venue, and rank cards would be made available on the official websites from June 15, 2017. The counselling process for admission would begin from June 28, 2017.
The JIMPER 2017 entrance exam for admission into MBBS courses was conducted on June 4, 2017. Based on the results of the exam a merit list of candidates qualifying the exam would be prepared and counselling would be done.
The JIPMER 2017 counselling would be done for admissions in two campuses of JIMPER located in Puducherry. JIMPER is a premier medical institute in the country like the AIIMS which conducts its own entrance exam and dont go for NEET based admissions.
Rank letter would have to be downloaded
The rank cards would be made available on the official website (from June 15, 11 AM onwards) which the candidates would be required to download within a specified amount of time. No, Physical dispatching of the rank cards to the registered address of the candidates would take place. Candidates can download the rank card with the help of following steps.
- Go to the official website of JIPMER.
- Click on the link JIMPER 2017 rank cards.
- A login window will appear, key in your registration ID and password to login.
- A window showing rank card and marks would appear, download the rank card and take a printout for future reference.
Rank cards would be required to be presented by the candidates at the time of document verification process before admission as well as at the counselling venue.
Counselling venue changed
Candidates going to take part in the JIPMER 2017 counselling process should note that the counselling venue has been changed. JIPMER 2017 counselling would now be held at JIPMER Mini-Auditorium (4th Floor), JIPMER Academic Centre, JIPMER, Puducherry-06. Candidates qualified for taking part in the counselling would have to report at the venue between 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM for the process.
JIPMER MBBS 2017 entrance exam results were declared on June 10, 2017. A total of 189663 candidates took the exam on June 4, 2017, held at 339 centers in 75 cities across the country. Out of 1, 89,663 that took the exam a total of 2,050 candidates qualified the exam, among which 650 were from general category, 380 from OBC category, 220 from SC category, 150 from ST category and 50 were from OPH category.
Admission process would begin from July 3, 2017. The admissions would be done on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in the JIPMER 2017 exam, his/her relative position in the merit list, and choice marked by them during the counselling process. The decision of exam conducting authority would deem to be final in regards to any decision related to the allotment of seat.
