SrinagarAt least nine CRPF, 2 JK policemen and two army soldiers were injured in string of attacks by militants in South Kashmir on Tuesday while they also decamped with four service rifles from policemen from Anantnag.
Reports said that suspected militants first on Monday evening lobbed a grenade on 180 BN main headquarter Tral in which two Central Reserve Police Force personnel (CRPF) personnel were injured. On Tuesday evening militants attacked F-COY CRPF camp of 180th battalion in Lariyar Village of Tral town, resulting in the injuries to 10 CRPF men.
Soon after Lariyar attack another two grenades were lobbed by militants, one at Padgampora area of Awantipora and another on Police Station Pulwama. However, reportedly no one was injured in these attacks.
Militants also attacked 42 RR camp of Nader Tral on Tuesday late evening in which reportedly two Army jawans were injured.
Hizbul Mujahideen in the meanwhile claimed responsibility for the attacks in Tral.
According to a report from Anantnag, militants attacked a police post, guarding the residence of Justice (rtd) Muzzafar Attar at Anchidora. One SPO was injured in the attack while militants managed to decamp with four service rifles from the guard room in the ensuing melee.
A late night report from Sopore said, suspected militants launched an attack on Armys 22 Rashtriya Rifles camp at Pazalpora. However no one was injured in the incident.
In view of the fresh attacks additional reinforcements were rushed to these areas.
Meanwhile the injured CRPF personnel were under treatment in different hospitals, most of them at 92 Base Hospital Srinagar.
