Anantnag:- A pregnant woman of south Kashmirs Anantnag district died Friday evening due to the alleged negligence of doctors of Maternity and Child Care Hospital (MCCH) Anantnag.
Following the death, the family members and other locals of the area Saturday held protests in courtyard of MCCH Hospital against the doctors and management and demanded stern punishment to the guilty.
According to protesting family members, Jamsheeda Jan, 30, wife of Waseem Ahmad of Brakpora Anantnag was admitted to MCCH Anantnag on Tuesday after she complained labour pain. She was operated on Wednesday at MCCH Anantang.But after having a caesarean section in which she had a stillbirth, she was referred in unconscious state to SMHS where She breathed her last Friday evening.
The family alleged that doctors at MCCH Hospital didnt operate her properly due to which she was referred to Srinagar for advanced treatment. She died due to the medical negligence of doctors at MCCH Anantnag, said a family member.
They demanded that there should be an independent enquiry into her death and those found guilty should be punished.
Meanwhile talking to Kashmir Observer Superintendent of MCCH Hospital GM Bhat said that they have formed a four member investigative team headed by DHO Dr Khalid. “They would investigate the matter and will submit a report within seven days.Those found guilty will be punished,” he added.
