SRINAGAR – To rehabilitate the Dal dwellers who shall be settled at Rakh-i-Arth and for beautification of Dal Lake, Estimates Committee meeting was held under the Chairmanship of MLA, Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan here today.
Among others the members of the Committee including MLAs Dr. Mustafa Kamal, Mr. Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen, Mr. Peer Afaq, Mr. A.G. Veeri, Mr. Ashwani Kumar and Mr. Mohammad Ashraf Mir participated in the meeting.
Threadbare discussions were held about the measures being put in place to expand and beautify the world famous Dal Lake besides the rehabilitation of Dal dwellers at Rakh-i-Arth.
It was informed that 7526 kanals of land at Rakh-i-Arth will be taken up in three phases for rehabilitation of the Dal dwellers. During the first and second phase as many as 3000 kanals of land each and 1526 kanals of land during the 3rd phase shall be taken up for developing modern facilities for those to be rehabilitated.
It was also informed that Rakh-i-Arth will be developed as township having better road connectivity besides proper sewage and drainage systems in addition to modern health care, education and shopping facilities.
An amount of Rs. 57 crore have been utilized for the acquisition of land and rehabilitation of 200 families besides different developmental activities at Rakh-i-Arth.
Besides, Vice Chairman, LAWDA, Mr. Irfan Yaseen Shah, officers of different departments attended the meeting.
