Srinagar: Senior Congress leader and former union minister, Prof Saif-ud-din Soz Friday said that the civil society in India is aghast as why Prime Minister, Narendra Modi doesnt react positively to the situation in Kashmir and attempt to convert the Challenge into his opportunity.
In a statement, Soz said, I invested some time in Delhi recently and tried to understand how India’s Civil Society reacts to the on-going Crisis in Kashmir. To my pleasant surprise, I found that the Civil Society, with all its disagreements with PM Modi’s perspectives of the politics, they feel aghast why he does not react positively to the situation in Kashmir and attempt to convert the Challenge into his “Opportunity”!.
He said that cutting across their general political responses, they feel that it is Modi who holds the ‘trump’ as the Prime Minister of India.
Through these discourses with a variety of Civil Society members, I also learnt to my pleasure the fact around this time all segments of the National Opposition, including the Congress Party, would be part of the Solution rather than part of the Problem!, Soz said, adding that the general run of the Civil Society feels sad and chagrined why PM Modi is losing time and not catching the Bull by its Horns!.
These concerned citizens further feel that in recent times, while the so-called Mainstream got decimated, the Hurriyat spoke in one voice and it should be seen in Delhi as a situation of advantage in Delhi, for a decisive dialogue, rather than a disadvantageous proposition!, he added.
