Srinagar: The Me‘raj celebrations continued for the second day today in the Kashmir valley, where people are oganising seminars and visiting shrine and other religious places.
Lakhs of people, including women and children, joined prayers in mosques, shrine, Jamia Masjids and other Khankhas and religious places in the valley and Ladakh region during the night intervening April 24 and 25.
The main congregation was held at Hazratbal shrine on the bank of Dal Lake, which houses a relic of Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh). Thousands of people, wearing warm and woolen cloths, including pheran from different parts of the valley besides Jammu and outside the state attend the prayers at the shrine, where ulmas highlighted the importance of Shab-e-Miraj.
The Wakf board, managing the shrines, including Hazratbal shrine, had announced that Miraj-un-Nabi celebrations will continue today also.
The devotees after morning prayers Fajr had glimpse of the Holy Relic this morning also.
According to management of the shrine, devotees will have the glimpse of the Holy Relic after every prayers during the day. The process will be organized on Friday also.
Hundreds of vendors have set up their stalls selling their products around the shrine. The authorities had also established medical and other camps near the shrine, where adequate power and water supply had been made.
