Srinagar: MLA Budgam XI and UCC Sheikhpora managed victories in their respective fixtures of Budgam Premier League played at Shiekhpora Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.
The star of UCC’s victory was their all-rounder Aqib Khan. Aqib played a vital role in helping his side post a competitive total of 108 thanks to his solid 30.
Defending a low total, UCC were aided by reckless batting from Syed Hyderpora XI and some tight bowling from Aqib. The all-rounder took two wickets to fashion a five run victory for his side as Hyderpora were bowled out for 103 in the 20th over.
Aqib walked away with the man of the match award.
In the second game of the tourney, Rough Ahmad starred with the ball to help MLA Budgam XI post a comprehensive four wicket victory over
Nayikpora Chanapora. Rouf took a four-fer to skittle out Nayikpora for 108.
MLA Budgam didn’t sweat much chasing the target in just 18th over, losing only four wickets. Rouf was unsurprisingly declared man of the match.
The tournament is a huge success in the area with many a team participating in it for the top honours.
