Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir police claimed to have arrested three youths allegedly distributing poll boycott posters in the name of militant outfits in south Kashmir, where polling in Anantnag Parliamentary constituency is going to be held on April 12.
However, another miscreant involved in distributing the posters was still at large and a massive hunt has been launched to nab him, a senior police officer said.
He said that some posters had appeared in Seer Hamdan and other places in Anantnag in the name of Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) and Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) directing people to boycott polls or face consequences.
However, both the militant had denied to have issued any such poll boycott posters, he said adding a special team was constituted to nab the miscreants.
He said finally police arrested three miscreants who have now confirmed that they were pasting and distributing poll boycott posters.
The officer said four miscreant involved in the conspiracy was still at large.
He said earlier a similar module was busted in the district.
Polling is being held in Anantnag Parliamentary constituency, spreading over Kulgam, Shopian, Pulwama and Anantnag districts.
Ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) nominee Mufti Tassaduq Hussain, brother of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief Ghulam Ahmad Mir are among the candidate seeking mandate from the constituency.
