Srinagar: Hurriyat (M) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umer Farooq who continues to remain under house arrest, was barred by the authorities for the fifth consecutive Friday from offering weekly special prayers and deliver Friday sermon at Historic Jamia Masjid Srinagar.
However, Mirwaiz addressed the Friday congregation at Jamia Masjid through telephone and asserted that suppression detention tyranny, and torture of the people and leadership cannot stifle their voice calling for the freedom of Kashmir.
Mirwaiz said that as per the joint resistance programme people should observe a protest strike from the evening of April 8 till the evening of April 09 to show complete resolve and commitment with the freedom struggle.
