Anantnag: Residents of Braad Anagan Shangas area of south Kashmirs Anantnag District Saturday protested against the PHE department for failing to supply drinking water to them.
The residents said that the area which consists of around 50 households, sans drinking water facilities for last one month after a household snapped the main water supply line.
We have to go to other localities to fetch water which is causing inconvenience to the people here. We demand redressal of the problem, said a resident
We requested PHE department on several occasions to solve the problem, but they are not serious in solving this problem said another resident, adding that the department is making no efforts to restore drinking water supply to the area, thus forcing residents to protest.
The residents warned the authorities that if their problem is not solved at earliest , they will come to streets for protests.
When contacted, the concerned JE PHE Fayaz Ahmad, said that there is dispute between two households which affects the water supply to the whole area.
We are trying to solve this problem at earliest, he added .
