SRINAGAR: A Hizb ul Mujahideen commander, Amir Nabi Wagay, was on Thursday arrested from a Srinagar hospital.
Amir, son of Ghulam Nabi Wagay, a resident of Goirwan Bijbehara is reportedly not keeping well. He was apprehended in a raid by CID sleuths.
Amir, according to reports, was district commander of the outfit for Anantnag (Islamabad) district.
A top police official said, the operation was executed on the basis of planned surveillance on the movement of the militant.
Court Extends Remand Of Masarat
Baramulla Munsif Court on Friday extended the judicial remand of incarcerated pro-freedom leader, Masarat Alam Bhat till April 7, in an FIR lodged against him when he was in jail, sources said.
Hurriyat Conference (G) secretary general (II) and Muslim League Chairman, Masarat is undergoing imprisonment since October 2010, after he spearheaded the then peoples uprising.
As per Muslim League sources, the Court extended Masarats remand in a case filed against him when he was lodged in a jail outside the valley. Masarat has been booked in a case FIR NO. 258/2016 registered in police station Baramulla.
