Srinagar: Accusing ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of encouraging communal forces in the state to remain in power, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Ghulam Ahmad Mir alleged that the current regime is adopting various aggressive measures to crush the voices being raised against their policies and anti-people policies.
He also appealed people to exercise their franchise in his (Mirs) favour in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Anantnag seat in order to safeguard the secular identity of the State.
Mir, who is the candidate of NC-Congress pre-poll alliance, said that despite heavy losses caused to both life and property in the entire valley, the government is not bothered to take cohesive measure to tackle the situation.
Rather, he alleged that the ruling dispensation is adopting various aggressive measures to crush the voices being raised against their policies and anti-people policies.
Alleging that the state government is being controlled by Nagpur, he alleged that the PDP was damaging the secular fabric of the State, besides encouraging bloodshed of innocent people to remain in power.
This is highly painful that our youth are being killed one by one and the irony is that the Chief Minister being Head of the Unified Command is not able to stop these killing. MS Mehbooba is directly responsible for innocent killings, she is to be blamed for the losses caused to life and property, Mr Mir alleged.
Hitting out at PDP, he said it is the same party which sought vote in 2014 Assembly elections to keep BJP away and then formed a coalition government with the same saffron party, it vowed to keep away.
He said PDP joining hands with BJP was never expected by the people, as a result there is mass discontent among the people. He expressed confidence that people will not repeat 2014 and will defeat the PDP in the bypolls.
