Srinagar: The under graduate (BG) students of Degree College Bemina on Wednesday staged protest against the highhandedness of Kashmir University officials, alleging that the authorities were targeting them to mint money.
The final year students including boys and girls marched from Bemina Degree College to Srinagars Press Enclave and were chanting slogans like we want justice.
The protesting 3rd year students who were carrying placards displaying KU Hai Hai were demanding immediate redressal of their genuine grievances.
While talking to KNS, the students said that prior to the final results, the varsity officials have made the evaluation results public, which shows that all the students from Bemina Degree College have failed in English subject. It is totally shocking that all the students from the college have failed in English subject. This result seems to be a new trend of the varsity officials to mint the money from the students who are now being asked to go for re-evaluation of their papers or to get their Xerox papers, the students added.
They said that the highhandedness of authorities have put the career of hundreds of students at stake. We believe that something is fishy in the results and we appeal the authorities to go for re-checking of our papers without asking the students to pay for it so that the students could feel a sigh of relief, they demanded.
Meanwhile, the final year students from other colleges also alleged that there is mismarking in some subjects including Islamic Studies.
The students demanded varsity officials to take immediate measures in this regard.
Meanwhile, Additional Examination controller, Muhammad Yousuf told KNS that the students who are leveling allegations should submit a form available on the website to seek their Xerox papers or to go for re-checking of their papers. (KNS)
