Srinagar: Hundreds of employees from Consumer and Public Distribution Department Wednesday staged a protest in support of their multiple demands at Direction Office here in Shaheed Gunj Srinagar. The protest rally was organized CAPD Employees Association led by its president Ajaz Ahmed Khan.
The protesting employees including store-keepers, Fair Price Shop dealers urged upon the government to address the problems faced by the employees of the CAPD Department.
CAPD Employees Association president Ajaz Ahmed Khan told CNS that employees have been facing multiple problems while government has miserably failed to address them. There are promotion problems. Besides scores of employees including those working in ration stores are awaiting regularization. These demands are just and genuine and we sincerely appeal authorities to resolve our issues on humanitarian grounds, Khan said. (CNS)

Demand immediate release of their pending honorarium
Srinagar: Scores of Anganwadi workers on Wednesday staged protest against the government for failing to release their honorarium from past six months.
The women protesters assembled at Srinagars Press Enclave and chanted slogans like we want justice were demanding immediate release of their pending honorarium.
They said that the government has failed to release their honorarium from past six months thereby leaving the Anganwadi workers to suffer.
We have not received our salaries from last six months, said Hafeeza, a protester.
She further said that they have been demanding regularisation of their services from last one year, but government is not listening to their pleas. Besides ignoring our pleas, the government is not even releasing our pending honorarium, she added.
She said that they will continue to stage protests against the government in case they failed to fulfill their demands.
The Anganwadi workers later appealed the higher ups to release their honorarium at earliest. (KNS)
MGNREGA Employees Stage Protest in Pattan, Demand Regularisation
Scores of contractual employees of Mathma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) today staged a protest in North Kashmir’s Pattan town for demanding Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti’s intervention to seek regular jobs.
Protesters assembled in premises of Block Development Office, Pattan and protested against what they called ‘Governments non serious attitude’ towards them.
The angry protestors said they have been serving Rural Development Department from past nine years. They said that the Government assured them job policy from time to time but till date they were not given a single written assurance.
They appealed chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti Mufti to look into it as according to them the concerned Minister has failed to fulfill their demands.
“We the employees demand intervention of Honorable Chief Minister in our issue, otherwise we will take to streets as the minister has delayed and betrayed us by making fake promises till date”, they said.
They demanded swift and positive action as soon as possible while reiterating serious consequence, if government failed to fulfill their demands.
