Srinagar: Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik was on Saturday arrested by police and immediately shifted to central jail Srinagar on a 12 days remand.
A JKLF spokesman said that the police Saturday morning cordoned off party office at Abi Guzar Srinagar and arrested JKLF chairman.
The spokesman said that Malik who has been ill from last many days and is on high antibiotics was immediately presented before the 2nd additional sessions judge who ordered to send him on a 12 days judicial remand to central jail Srinagar.
Before being taken away by police, JKLF chairman while speaking to media said, Kashmir has been turned into a police state where every norm of justice and democracy is being trampled by occupational authorities.
He said that civilized world has some norms regarding the election process and according to these norms casting vote or boycotting it, is every ones democratic right.
Malik said that on one hand the rulers facilitate the people participating in elections. They are being provided every facility and police, bureaucrats and employees are engaged for them but on the other hand pro-boycott people are terrorized, raided, arrested and put in jails, said JKLF chief.
He said that handcuffing one side and facilitating the other means that these elections are fraud, farce and carry no relevance.
JKLF chairman said that until now united resistance leadership had only called for a complete boycott and no boycott campaign has formally started but the rulers have started using military and police might to put curbs on resistance camp.
He said that Jails and incarceration are not new to us and jails are our second home but by this unilateral state violence so-called rulers have actually conceded a defeat much before the contest.
Malik said, Democracy has been shamed by Indian as well as the state rulers and today people wearing the knickers (Shorts) of RSS are running the state according to the wishes and whims of Nagpor.
He said that people, who martyred our hundreds during last many months, blinded and maimed thousands and have put thousands including minors and elderly in jails and police stations have actually turned who Kashmir into a big jail where only state sponsored terrorism and promotion of violence is on high and no democracy, openness or freedom of speech is available to humans.
Calling for a complete boycott of upcoming Indian elections, JKLF chairman said that boycotting elections is our democratic right and moral duty of every Kashmiri and to safeguard our valuable sacrifices we all should keep away from casting votes or participating in these
