Srinagar: Anti-graft body Vigilance Organization Kashmir arrested Dr. Abdul Rashid Dar the then BMO Kulgam and Mohammad Ashraf Parray the then senior assistant/cashier BMO office Kulgam in case related to allegations of illegal and unauthorised appointment of Class 4th employees and Junior Assistants at various Medical Blocks of District Anantnag and Kulgam.
During the course of investigation, it was revealed that Dr. Abdul Rashid Dar, BMO Kulgam and other officers/officials of Health Department in District Anantnag and Kulgam have entered into a criminal conspiracy among themselves and with the beneficiaries during the period 2003 to 2010. The accused public servants dishonestly, fraudulently and by abusing their respective official positions illegally allowed 22 private persons to join in the Health Department in different blocks on basis of fake and fabricated appointment/transfer orders and thereby extending undue benefit to private persons causing wrongful corresponding loss to the state exchequer.
4 RDD officials held for fraud
Jammu and Kashmir State Vigilance Organisation (SVO) has arrested four officials of Rural Development Department (RDD) for misappropriation of funds under Total Sanitation Campaign (TSC) in the central Kashmir district of Badgam.
Investigation was taken up in a case that RDD officials had misappropriated funds sanctioned under TSC in Baghat Kanipora (BK) in Badgam district in the year 2012-13.
A SVO spokesman said today that a case was registered FIR Number 06/2015 P/S VOK u/s 5(1) c, 5(1)d r/w 5(2) of J&K P.C Act Samvat 2006 and section 120-B RPC.
He said the verification into the allegations that the officers/officials of RDD of Block B K have misappropriated Government money in construction of number of latrine points in Halqa Dooniwari.
During the course of inspection, SVO randomly selected 37 beneficiaries of TSC and found 13 latrine points were non-existent and have misappropriated an amount of Rs 66 300 during the year 2012-13.
He said the arrested officials are Tanveer Ahmad Dar, Asstt. Engineer Sub Division BK Pora; Tariq Ahmad Sheikh Technical Assistant to MGNREGA B KPora ; Riyaz Ahmad Mir, Multi Purpose Worker (MPW), Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Misger then Sarpanch Halqa Doniwari.
