Srinagar:- In a surprise return, advisor to Chief Minister, Prof Amitabh Mattoo who resigned during the summer uprising of 2016 due to some unknown reasons visited Tulip garden on Tuesday to take stock of the work being carried out in the world famous tourist attraction.
Sources said, Amitabs resignation was not accepted by the Chief Minister, Mehabooba Mufti and resumed the office during the winter secession of Assembly, last year.
His resignation was not accepted, he had gone to Australia last year for some personal assignments but now is back and have resumed the duties, Media advisory to CM Suhail Bukhari told Kashmir Observer on Phone.
He said, during CMS meeting with Union Road Transport Minister, Nitin Gadkar he was accompanying her last month.
54-year-old Mattoo, was named the advisor to Mehbooba Mufti with the status of a cabinet minister in April last year. He also served as advisor to former chief minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed, who died on January 7.
Before that, he served as the chief executive officer and inaugural director of the Australia Institute and Professor of International Relations at the University of Melbourne in Australia.
Mattoo is also a teacher at Jawaharlal Nehru University teaching Disarmament Studies at the School of International Studies.
