Srinagar: A police Constable today died while he was on duty in south Kashmir district of Anantnag, a police spokesperson said here this evening.
He said that Constable Zahoor Ahmad Baba fell unconscious at Khanabal point while performing his duty.
“Baba was immediately taken to a hospital, where he was declared brought dead,” he added
The spokesperson said a wreath laying ceremony was held in District Police Lines Anantnag where floral tributes were paid to Baba.
Senior officers of Police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) laid the floral wreaths on the body of the deceased constable, he said.
After completing the wreath laying ceremony, the body of the deceased was handed over to his relatives for last rites.
