Srinagar: Acting tough against the norm violators, the Lakes & Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA) has registered more than 500 FIRs against the norm violators and has booked over 450 violators by the end of the February 2017.
Sources in LAWDA told KNS that 541 cases were registered against the norm violators while at least 480 violators were booked till the end of February 2017.
They informed KNS that besides at least 61 vehicles were seized by the authorities carrying the material used for the construction of illegal buildings. At least 401 illegal buildings were raised by the authorities till the end of the previous month, they informed.
They said that the authorities are keeping close vigil on the norm violators.
Pertinently, the people residing in the interiors have been alleging that the illegal construction is ongoing inside the Dal premises.
They were demanding stern action against the norm violators are were seeking the intervention of the authorities to stop such norm violations. (KNS)
