Srinagar: Promising to bring the golden glory, Nazir Ahmad Dar, on Saturday formally joined the J&K Sainik School Manasbal as its new principal thus relieving his predecessor, Sheikh Gayas Ud Din, of charges.
A function in this regard was held in Kotrani Hall of the School during which outgoing principal shared memories of his four year tenure while as Dar emphasized on more pragmatic and vibrant steps to put the school back on track. Din had joined SSM in October 2012.
With support and cooperation of my colleagues from academic to non-academic sections, Dar told the charged audience, I assure my students to bring Sainik School Manasbal at par with best schools in India.
Dar impressed upon the staff of the school to work in letter and spirit of the Sainik School modus operandi while as students were asked to put in full efforts to crack professional entrance examinations.
Dar, with illustrious career in education upliftment of Kashmiri students, is credited to have run JNV Kargil during 1999 Indo-Pak war. He has also headed JNV Kupwara before moving to Government Higher Secondary School Magam wherefrom he was transferred to SSM.
