Srinagar: Train service resumed in the Kashmir valley Saturday after remaining suspended for two days for security reasons following strike called by united resistance leadership on Friday against the killing of two civilians in Pulwama on Thursday.
”We have resumed all train services in the valley today,” said a railway official.
He said first train from Srinagar to Anantnag-Qazigund and Banihal in Jammu region operated today though it was delayed.
He said the second train has been suspended for some technical reasons while other trains will operate as per schedule.
All trains running on Badgam-Srinagar-Pulwama, Anantnag and Qazigund to Banihal in Jammu region track remained suspended for two days for security reasons.
Train service remained suspended on Srinagar-Badgam-Baramulla in north Kashmir yesterday.
He said the decision to suspend the train service was taken on the advice by local authorities and police following apprehension of violence.
