SRINAGAR – Army under its project Sadbhavana-XV is providing various opportunities to locals for better integration and upliftment of youth. Towards that an Inter Village level Volleyball tournament was organised at Upper Camp Khundru, by 114 Inf Bn (TA) JAT under the aegis of Chinar Corps.
Eight teams from local villages namel, Buna Uttarsoo, Telwani, Uttarsoo, Nowgam, Pushroo, Khundroo, Shangus and Anddhu, participated in the tournament. The matches were organised from Nov 20 to Nov 22 and were witnessed by large audience which generated bonhomie amongst the villagers and troops stationed nearby. The event drew tremendous participation and enthusiasm from locals. The final Match was played on 22 Nov 2012 between Telwani and Shangus. The team from Shangus village was the winner of finals. In the end, Prizes and trophies were presented by local village heads and the Commanding Officer to the Winners and Runners Up teams. The Commanding Officer expressed his gratitude to the Villages for making the event a great success.
