SRINAGAR: Braving the rains, National Health mission employees on their 8th consecutive day assembled at press enclave under the banner of All Jammu and Kashmir National Health Mission employees association, demanding regularization amid anti-government sloganeering.
The agitating protesters said, we are on strike since eight days, where is government? Where is Mehbooba Mufti? Nobody from any politicians or from separatists marks a single visit to us, we have been abandoned.
The last seven days witnessed protests, tear gas shelling, beating of NHM employees by J&K police.
Few days before core committee meeting with the MoS Health, Asiya Naqash, too proved a hoax, the government seems reluctant to sort out our demands, though the Health Minister herself know that the NHM employees are on genuine demands, said Abdul Rouf, J&K NHM spokesperson.
The protestors said, until the administration will not fulfil the demands of the employees, the strike will be continued.
However, the administration government officials on Wednesday met protesters here at Srinagars Press Enclave and assured them that their demands will be convened to Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti.
During the eight days of protest, the protesters tried to march towards CMs Gupkar residence during which police detained scores of the protesting employees and dispersed them using tear gas shells and lathis.
The Div Com asked the protesting employees top resume their duties and make memorandum of demands. The absence of employees from the hospitals has caused immense hardships to the patients, he said.
He asked the protesters to submit a memorandum and I will convene demands of the employees to the Chief Minster, he said.
