SRINAGAR: J&K government once again disallowed Hurriyat patriarch Syed Ali Geelani from offering mandatory Friday congregational prayers.
It may be noted that Hurriyat Conference (G) chairperson, Syed Ali Geelani, continues to be under house detention since 2010.
Condemning the autocratic and egoistic behaviour of rulers and its authorities, Hurriyat Conference (G) spokesperson, Ayaz Akbar, said, today a huge contingent of police and forces personnel were deployed outside his residence and on airport road.
Condemning the actions of the establishment, Akbar said, state administration for their vengeful policy against Syed Ali Geelani are scared of him.
Terming the approach of state administration as brutal and callous, he added, they failed to produce any court order nor they could justify this illegal detention.
Meanwhile, the Hurriyat Conference said that withdrawing the strike call on Friday conveyed a message for those elements which are hell-bent to malign the movement for political gains.
It has made clear that freedom movement is not communal in nature and we have nothing to do with sectarian or communal politics. We are striving for right to self-determination for all sections including Hindus, Sikhs, Christians and other communities, the statement said.
We have no animosity with followers of any religion and faith but believe in complete harmony and are committed to safeguard their honour and properties. Some black sheep under the influence of BJP dogma dont represent the aspirations of these minority communities, Akbar said. They are few and for the sake of favours and political gains are playing the deceit.
