Budgam: A flood victim lady from Central Kashmirs Budgam district has alleged that district administration deprived her of flood relief after the death of her father. She said that even after completing all the legal formalities, the flood relief was not given to her.
Haleema Bano, daughter of Abdul Salam Bhat of Soibugh Budgam said that they lost the house in September 2014 floods. My father received first installment of Rs 3800 and after that he died of cardiac arrest. Authorities didnt provide me next installment of Rs 25,000 though my father had appointed me as his legal heir, she said, adding that the authorities asked her to fulfill all the legal formalities. It took me more than six months to complete the legal formalities. However, even after that district administration officials have been forcing me to wander from pillar to post, she said.
The Deputy Commissioner Budgam is reluctant to handover the cheque to me given the fact, Tehsildar and Patwari have completed all the documents, she said.
Ironically, Deputy Commissioner Budgam said that he can hand over the Check only to her dead father. I cant give the cheque to her as it belongs to her dead father, she said. (CNS)
