NEW DELHI – Senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Alok Joshi was on Tuesday appointed as the chief of country’s external intelligence gathering agency RAW.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Alok Joshi, presently Special Secretary, Research and Analysis Wing, as Secretary, Research and Analysis Wing, Cabinet Secretariat for a period of two years or until further orders, which ever is earlier, vice S.K. Tripathi, on completion of his tenure on 29.12.2012.
Joshi, who will succeed S.K. Tripathi, has served in Intelligence Bureau (IB) and Haryana Police.
