Srinagar: Train service in Kashmir Valley resumed Friday morning after remaining suspended for a day,when separatists had called for a general strike on the fourth death anniversary of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru.
”We have resumed rail run in the Kashmir valley on all routes,” said a senior railway official .
He said train will run as per schedule on Srinagar-Badgam-Baramulla in north Kashmir today. Similarly, train service will also resume on Badgam-Srinagar-Anantnag and Qazigund in south Kashmir to Banihal in Jammu region track.
Train service was suspended yesterday following advice by authorities and police, apprehending protests because of strike.
In January this year, train service was disrupted a number of times following heavy snowfall.
