Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir State Vigilance Organisation (SVO) on Wednesday registered a case against Roads and Buildings (R&B) department officials and some other persons for hatching criminal conspiracy and abuse of official position.
A SVO spokesman said here today that today a Case FIR No. 03/2017 Police station VOK was registered in Police Station Vigilance Organization Kashmir, on the basis of a enquiry conducted upon the investigation against R&B officials and other persons.
He said the enquiry revealed that the then Executive Engineers of Special Sub Division R&B Bandipora namely Abdul Aziz Kashmiri, Akhtar Hussain & Sheikh Mohammad Hussain, in pursuance to criminal conspiracy hatched by them and others by abuse of their official positions during the year 2004-05 have misappropriated an amount of Rs 5,21,210 while effecting purchase of 301 mtrs M S Pipe 8 dia 6mm, 174 mtrs, M S Pipe 10 dia, 1000 litres of black and yellow road marking paint of Aquolac and 6000 ltrs of Repidite on exorbitant rates by issuing supply order to their favourite suppliers/beneficiaries namely M/s Mohammad Ashraf Dar & Nazir Ahmad Tramboo thereby causing a corresponding loss to the state exchequer.
On the aforementioned acts of omission and commission prima-facie established the offences punishable u/s 5(1)(c)(d) r/w 5(2) J&K P.C Act svt. 2006 `120-B RPC against the public servants identified as Abdul Aziz Kashmiri, sheikh Mohammad Hussain, Akhter Hussain all the then Executive Engineers Special Sub Division R&B Bandipora and others.
