LAHORE: Pakistan Army is fully prepared to give a befitting response to any misadventure from across the border, Pakistan army chief has said.
India is trying to divert worlds attention from its atrocities against innocent Kashmiris, the Pakistan militarys media wing quoted General Qamar Javed Bajwa as saying during his visit to the Lahore Garrison on Friday.
The restive Himalayan region suffered a rise in violence last year after the killing in July of a popular young rebel leader in a gun battle with soldiers.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the COAS was briefed in detail about operational preparedness and other matters at Corps Headquarters and Headquarters Pakistan Rangers Punjab, reported The Express Tribune.
Gen Bajwa expressed his satisfaction on operational readiness, and appreciated Pakistan Rangers response to the continuing ceasefire violations along the Working Boundary by Indian troops.
Addressing the officers and troops of Lahore Garrison, Gen Bajwa highlighted challenges of the prevailing security environment for the army.
He said Pakistan Army and Rangers played an important role for reduction in internal security threats as well as effective response along the Working Boundary.
Kashmiri Youth Have Become Vibrant: Pak Ambassador
WASHINTON DC: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States Ambassador, Jalil Abbas Jilani, has said that Kashmiri youth have become vibrant to throw away the yoke of slavery.
Addressing a seminar in Washington in connection with Kashmir Solidarity Day organized by Embassy of Pakistan in the United States, Jilani said that international community should pressurize India to hold referendum in Kashmir.
“India cannot suppress freedom movement in Kashmir through the use of force,” Jilani said, according to a report in Radio Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal has said that Pakistan will continue supporting peaceful freedom movement in Kashmir.
“Pakistan is firmly committed to the cause of Kashmiris as Kashmir is an unfinished agenda of partition,” Iqbal said during the seminar.
Iqbal said that Pakistan has been extending unwavering support to the Kashmiri people. Pakistan will highlight Kashmir cause on all political and diplomatic forums.
Aga Hasan Thanks Pakistan
SRINAGAR: Thanking Pakistan for supporting Kashmir Freedom Struggle, senior Hurriyat Conference (G) leader and president Anjuman Shar-i-Shian, Aga Syed Hasan Almosvi Alsafvi, Friday said that observing February 5 as Kashmir Solidarity Day, Pakistan has been proving that it is the advocate, sympathizer and well wisher of the people of Kashmir.
Pakistan has left no stone unturned in raising Kashmir issue on all international forums, he said, Pakistans efforts with regard to Kashmir are commendable and this country has been utilizing all its resources to highlight the sufferings and pain of people of Kashmir.
Addressing devotees at Imambara Budgam, Aga Hasan criticized a Kolkata court for awarding death sentence to a Kashmir youth, Muzaffar Ahmed Rather.
He said that the decision tantamounts to murder of justice. Muzafar was arrested when he was 14 and after keeping him prison for decades, death sentence was awarded to him. This decision is politically motivated as some Indian states are going for elections in coming days, he said and prayed for the well-being of pro-freedom leader Syed Ali Geelani. Geelani is an asset to this nation. (KNS)
