SRINAGAR: District Development Commissioner Srinagar, Dr Farooq Ahmad Lone, who is also holding the additional charge of Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Saturday, reviewed measures undertaken for dewatering in waterlogged areas of Srinagar City.
On the occasion, it was given out that SMC has deployed 23 mobile dewatering pumps in waterlogged areas including Samanderbagh, Bakshi Stadium, Iqbalabad, Tattoo ground, Rathpora Barthana, Hajiabad Bemina, Kreshbal and Mehjoor Nagar (Rahim Bagh).
The meeting was also informed that Fire and Emergency Services Kashmir has also deployed fire tenders at Moominabad, Humhama and JVC Bemina for dewatering purposes.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner along with the officers of SMC, Drainage, Mechanical Engineering, Fire and Emergency Services Department visited Samanderbagh and other areas of City and inspected dewatering measures undertaken.
The District Development Commissioner directed officers to continue the dewatering process round the clock so that people do not face any difficulty.
