JeI directs workers to provide relief to affected families
ANANTNAR/SRINAGAR – Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Monday morning visited Frislan village in Pahalgam of Anantnag district where dozens of houses were gutted in a devastating fire on Saturday night.
The Chief Minister met the fire sufferers, conveyed his sympathy and expressed deep grief over the incident. He visited the village and took stock the incident and got first hand appraisal of the magnitude of damage to the property and the status of help being provided to the sufferers by the district administration.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by the Minister of Rural Development, Ali Mohammad Sagar. A team of Ministers comprising Mian Altaf Ahmed and Sakina Itoo had visited the village on Sunday on the instructions of the Chief Minister and took stock of the magnitude of damage and the necessary help being provided by administration to the affected families.
President of Peoples Democratic Party, Mehbooba Mufti had also visited the fire sufferers on Sunday. While expressing sympathies with the sufferers, she had demanded immediate relief to the fire victims.
Meanwhile, the Jamaat-e-Islami has expressed deep regret and sorrow over the devastating fire incident at Frislan Pahalgam.
The religio-political organization has directed its workers in Islamabad district to start the relief work for the affected people so that they are not subjected to any trouble in the ensuing winter season.
In this massive fire incident that had engulfed a vast portion of the village, sixty structures including 46 residential houses were razed down to rubble and a number of cattle also charred to death.
Ameer-e-Jamaat, Mohammad Abdullah Wani while extending full solidarity and great sympathy with the affected people, has appealed people of the valley particularly those associated with Jamaat to come forward with all kind of assistance in cash and kind for the sufferers in order to console them. Those desiring to provide help can collect it at district Jamaat office near KMD Adda Islamabad, said the Jamaat spokesperson Advocate Zahid Ali in a statement here.
