Jammu: Minister for R&B and Parliamentary Affairs Abdul Rehman Veeri Friday informed the house that around 80% attendance of the employees in civil secretariat and around 55% in government offices of rural areas were recorded during the initial period of uprising in Kashmir valley during 2016.
Replying to a question by Surinder Mohan Ambardar in the upper house, the Minister said through the constant efforts of the government, the attendance of the employees gradually improved and reached to the normal level.
The Minister said notwithstanding the difficulties, the employees of various government departments attended their duties and losses suffered during the period of unrest cannot be attributed to them. He said the recovery on account of fees, receipts etc in the Revenue Department got affected as the general public could not come forward during the unrest period.
