Srinagar: A rampant and long-term shortage of electricity has crippled the business at Sadar Treasury here in capital city Srinagar.
Those who visit the Sadar Treasury leave back without getting their work done as the Treasury faces acute power shortage.
“Our work relies on the electricity and these days we do not get it for days and relying on private generators alone has become too costly,” a Treasury employee said.
Every time I visit here, I find online system out of order. I am unable to withdraw my payment, said a contractor.
A GPF claimant said that due to power shutdown he is unable to get the amount which he has saved all through his service.
