Srinagar: Condemning the alleged molestation of an MBBS girl student at Government Medical College (GMC) in the winter capital, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief Yasin Malik today termed the assault as a heinous crime.
Asserting that the guilty should be punished sternly, he expressed solidarity with the girl and his family, who live in Ladakh region.
It is a heinous crime and the guilty should be punished sternly so that such incidents are not repeated in the state, he said.
He alleged the girl was molested by the head of Forensics Department, GMC Jammu on December 20.
While condemning the re-arrest of JKLF leader Noor Muhammad Kalwal, Hurriyat spokesman Muhammad Akbar Ayaz, Resistance leader, Moulana Sarjan Barkati and many others and also the continues house arrest of JKLF vice chairman Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi, Malik said that these people have been released by court but police is keeping these leaders and other people in jails and police stations illegally.
The statement reads that it is worth to mention that high court recently quashed the PSA on Noor Muhammad Kalwal, Akbar Ayaz, Moulana Sarjan Barkati and others but police after re-arresting these leaders has not yet released them.
The statement added that similarly JKLF leader Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi was released on court orders but has been placed under house arrest immediately after his release.
