Srinagar: A number of students of Kashmir University on Saturday urged varsity to postpone examination scheduled on Monday in wake of the snowfall in the Valley.
Several students from north Kashmirs Kupwara district, mainly appearing in their first paper of their courses on Monday said that they were unable to reach their respective rented accommodations in Srinagar due to snow.
While we had planned to reach our rented accommodation on Friday, weather played a spoil spot and we couldnt make it even today. Now, we will try to reach tomorrow and it would be hard for us to appear in examination on Monday, they said.
GNS also received a few calls from Beerwah in central Kashmirs Budgam district with similar grievance.
When contacted Kashmir University’s Controller Examination Dr. Abdul Salam Bhat told GNS that a decision will be taken in this regard after taking feedback from all the concerned on Sunday.
If we find that the students are facing difficulty in reaching the respective examination centres, decision will be accordingly taken. There is still a day (Sunday) left for deciding it and as of now all exams scheduled on Monday stand and will be conducted as per the timing already notified, he added.
