Hazaratbal locals decry power, water scarcity

SRINAGAR: The locals of several areas of Hazaratbal on Friday accused the state dispensation of ignoring the constituency at levels with basic facilities like drinking water and electricity being denied at large.

It was maintained further by the locals that the power crises are only deepening in the area and that the authorities are caught napping over such dearth of this facility.

They said despite bringing the issue into the notice of the concerned for several times, there hasnt been any action witnessed till date.

The locals of Rangpora Illahi Bagh said the transformers arent being repaired for months and low voltage at several localities is only falsifying the claims of the dispensation.

They added that water supplies too are worst hit in the constituency and that not even a single measure is taken to ensure people heave a sigh of relief from the acute paucity of such basic needs.

Furthermore, Youth National Conference (YNC) senior Vice President of Block Hazaratbal Mohammad Irfan Zahgeer while stating a protest demonstration alleging the government of acting as a mute spectator over series crises looming large in Hazaratbal.

He added that despite people being seen up in arms against the government, its machinery is hell bent to ignore their pleas and is involved in worst ever vendetta. Such tough times werent wit¬nessed ever by Srinagar as are being witnessed today. Hazaratbal in particular is being ignored on all fronts, Zahgeer added. (KNS)
