Ganderbal : A 28-year-old youth was killed, when a river bank collapsed during sand extraction in central Kashmir district of Ganderbal.
Official sources here today said that the youth, identified as Irfan Ahmed Malla, came under a portion of riverbank, which crumbled during sand extraction at Fatehpora in Ganderbal.
Malla was immediately taken to a hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
After completing all the legal and medical formalities, the body was handed over to his relatives for last rites, the sources added.
