KATHUA – Three day training programme in fruit and vegetable preservation organised by the department of Horticulture Kathua under SCA to Tribal Sub Plan for women concluded at Bani yesterday.
Women from various villages of bani viz Kanthel, , Surjan, Gatti and Chandel participated in the training programme and were imparted training in preparation of pickles, Jams, Squashes, Syrups nectars and sauces etc.
During the training programme Chief Horticulture Officer Kathua Mr. Tarvinder Singh addressed the trainees and exhorted upon them to avail the service of department for upgradation of skills for home scale preservation of fruit and vegetable.
The training programmes was organised under the supervision of R.K. Tikoo I/C Manager cum-Chemist fruit and vegetable preservation, utilization and extension centre Kathua.
Horticulture Development officer Bani Sh. Brij Pal Singh presented an account of the schemes of the department specially for empowerment of the women.
