SRINAGAR: A delegation of newly constituted Kashmir Editors Guild (KEG) called on the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti here today.
Led by its President and Editor-in-Chief of Greater Kashmir group of publications, Fayaz Ahmad Kaloo, the delegation apprised the Chief Minister of the issues confronting the newspapers in the State.
The Chief Minister complimented Mr. Kaloo and other office bearers of KEG for having been chosen to lead the group. She hoped the Guild would play its role in strengthening the institution of journalism in the State for which she said Government would all along be supportive.
Mehbooba Mufti assured the delegation that the issues raised by them would be examined and looked into.
Minister for Finance, Dr Haseeb A Drabu and Minister for Education, Naeem Akhtar besides Director Information, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary were present on the occasion.
The delegation which met the Chief Minister comprised editors of prominent Srinagar based publications.
