Srinagar: Authorities Monday suspended train service from Pattan to Baramulla in North Kashmir after protesters alleged caused damage to the railway track between Palhalan and Delina area of the district.
A Railway official said that unidentified protesters have damaged the railway track between Palhalan and Delina areas of Baramulla district forcing them to suspend the service on Monday from Pattan to Baramulla.
“We have started the repairing work and hopefully the service will resume from Tuesday,” he said and added that they have filed a complaint in this regard in a local police station.
Meanwhile, unidentified persons pelted stones on a moving train near Machow Chanapora railway bridge causing damage to the Railway door. “The windowpanes of the Rail suffered damages, however, no one was hurt,” said the official adding that it was a sheer incident of security lapse. (CNS)
