Srinagar: Former Chief Minister and National Conference (NC) Working President, Omar Abdullah Saturday said that Pakistan has no role in triggering ongoing uprising in Kashmir.
“Pakistan has no role in triggering the present uprising in the Valley. Yes, they might have taken advantage of the situation or added fuel to it. But Pakistan is not responsible for present unrest. What I am saying is nothing new. I have been telling it from day one,” he told reporters on the sidelines of the party’s convention meeting here at Baramulla.
According to KNS, Omar said that blaming Pakistan for creating present unrest in Kashmir would be misunderstanding of situation. “If we misunderstand the facts, we will not take appropriate measures to avoid any such uprising in future. We have to address it internally,” he said.
“We need to start dialogue internally and to resolve internal political issue,” he added, while referring to present unrest.
He said that the government must take steps to normalize the situation in Kashmir.
Meanwhile, Omar demanded inquiry into the killing of Ex-sarpanch of congress who was allegedly killed after he snatched weapon of a cop in Dooru village of Anantnag.
“He said that the government must conduct a probe in this regard so that the facts would come out,” he said.
He also demanded probe into the killing of Asadullah Kumar, a government employee who was allegedly killed in cross firing last night.
Notably, others were present during the function were NC’s general secretary, Ali Muhammad Sagar, provisional president, Nasir Aslam Wani, party spokesman Junaid Mattoo, Javaid Dar, Ghulam Rahi, Rasikh Bhat and others. (KNS)
