Srinagar: Just a day after new Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) commander Zakir Rashid Bhat threatened state police of dire consequences if the families of militants were harmed, security forces Friday raided the hideout where he used to record videos in south Kashmir district of Pulwama.
According to a police spokesperson, acting on specific information about over ground networks of the militants, police and 42 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) conducted an operation at Batipora Dadsara in Pulwama.
During the operation, he said security forces searched residence of one Mudasir Ahmed Gunoo and found material and articles used by militants.
He said during preliminary investigation it was also established that Zakir alias Mosa used to record videos in one of the room of the house.
“Some clothes and other material used by Zakir in different videos and photographs were also recovered,” he said, adding manhunt has been launched for the absconding owner.
Police have registered a case and initiated further investigation in the case. –UNI
