SHOPIAN: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) on Tuesdaysaid that the amalgam chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik was today arrested at Shopian along with JKLF district president Pulwama Javed Ahmad Butt and senior member Ghulam Muhammad Dar.
The spokesman in a statement issued to KNS said that prior to his arrest, JKLF chairman after giving police a slip managed to reach to Sedew Shopian where he met pellet victim Insha- Mushtaq and bereaved family of seventeen year old martyr Aamir Bashir who embraced martyrdom during the ongoing phase of resistance.
“To keep a close eye on Malik’s activities and virtually placing him under arrest and to prevent him from going anywhere or perform any political activity, police and CRPF from last many days have laid a siege around his residence especially during night hours,” spokesman said.
He said that Malik somehow managed to give them a slip last night and reached Shopian at midnight. “Today morning he first reached at the residence of pellet victim Insha Mushtaq and expressed solidarity with her and her family,” spokesman said.
“Yasin sat with the family for hours and talked to innocent Insha for hours and hailed her bravery and valor. After meeting Innocent daughter of Kashmir, JKLF chief visited another victimized family of the same village who’s only bread-earner seventeen year old Aamir Bashir fell to bullets of Indian trigger happy soldiers recently and expressed solidarity with his bereaved family,” he said.
Spokesman said that after meeting these affected families, Yasin reached Jamia Masjid Shopian. “Police and forces immediately laid a siege around the Jamia, deployed police bunker vehicles at every entrance and harassed common villagers and prevented them from entering the Jamia,” spokesman said.
“Because of this police harassment and siege only few people could enter the Jamia. After Zuhr prayers, while speaking to the people present in the Jamia and also to those who had been forcefully stopped from entering the Masjid through public address system, Yasin strongly condemned the police oppression and said that intimidations, harassments, arrests, sieges and cordons cannot suppress the true voices of the people of Jammu Kashmir neither can these things hide the criminal acts of the rulers and their occupational authorities,” spokesman added.
He said that ‘so-called’ Chief Minister has been justifying the pellet and bullet terrorism unleashed by her forces by saying that those killed and blinded had not gone on roads to buy sweets or milk but today we want to ask her that how will she defend her killer forces who took away the eyesight of our little doll Insha while she was inside her house.
Spokesman quoted JKLF chairman as saying that PDP whose leadership used to propagate ideology of battle of ideas and talks not bullets, which also used to denounce innocent killings in 2008, 2010 etc and used to call for punishment to those involved in those killings has for the lust of power assumed the role of a subordinate to RSS and has broken all previous records of suppression and oppression in Jammu Kashmir and today its politics of duplicity stands fully exposed before the people of Jammu Kashmir.
He said that killing innocents, mass blinding, loot and arson, spree of arrests, using black law PSA to suppress political activists has become the hall mark of PDP/BJP rule and oppressive behavior of their police and other civil authorities in Jammu Kashmir but so-called rulers should remember that the oppression and tyranny cannot suppress the voices of people of Jammu Kashmir for freedom and liberty.
Malik said that according to the law of retribution tyrants and oppressors will surely have to answer for their crimes against humanity one day and that the last and final victory will belong to those oppressed.
While asking people to remain steadfast and safeguard unity at every cost, JKLF chairman said that resistance leadership and the people of Jammu Kashmir have shown an exemplary unity during last 150 days of resistance and this unity will lead us to success InshaAllah.
After offering Nimaz Zuhr JKLF chairman stepped out of the Jamia and immediately police and forces laid siege around him and arrested him along with another JKLF senior member Ghulam Muhammad Dar. JKLF district president Javed Ahmad Butt had been arrested before Zuhr prayers when he was entering the Jamia.
All detainees have been taken to police station Shopian and are lodged at the said police station. (KNS)
