India, Israel Two Faces Of Same Coin: Nayeem.
SRINAGAR (KNS) – Expressing grave concern and anguish over the barbaric Israeli attacks on unarmed civilians in Gaza in which over a hundred innocent people, including women and children, have been killed, Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Tuesday called for peaceful symbolic protests on Friday after prayers. He urged the Organization of Islamic Countries to intensify its diplomatic efforts to bring global pressure on Israel to stop the wonton killings.
In a statement, Geelani accused the sole super power, United States of America, of patronizing the Israeli terrorism. He said the Hamas response was a natural reaction to the Zionist attacks on civilian populations. He accused the US of adopting double standards by supporting the killers.
Those who raised hue and cry over the attack on Malala Yousufzai, indeed rightly, have maintained a criminal silence over the killings of hundreds of civilians, including women and children, by Zionist murderers in Gaza, he said, asking why the international community, notably the US Administration, was mum over the Gaza carnage.
Likening Palestine and Kashmir, Geelani said global peace would remain elusive as ever till the two festering issues are resolved in keeping with the wishes of their people. He called for symbolic protests after Friday prayers on 23rd of this month. Kashmiri people are not in a position to extend any physical support to their Palestinian brethren, but it is our moral duty to express our solidarity with them, he said.
Meanwhile, calling New Delhi and Tel Aviv as two faces of the same coin, senior resistance leader and National Front chairman, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, appealed international community to come forward and stop India and Israel from bloodshed and rights violations.
Reacting sharply to the killing of innocent people including kids by Israeli forces, Khan said Tel Aviv and New Delhi were hand in glove to suppress innocent people of Palestine and Kashmir.
Everybody knows that Tel Aviv suggested New Delhi to fence the LoC dividing the erstwhile Jammu Kashmir and it was Israel which provided all sorts of equipments to its ideological partner, New Delhi, to curb innocent Kashmiris, Khan said.
We are being butchered for decades together by none other than the ideological friend of Israel and we can better understand the pain of burying school children, unarmed youth, respected elders and women. It was India which crushed the most peaceful uprising in Kashmir by killing more than 200 innocent boys in 2008 and2010.
Khan said the international community had given a free hand to both India and Israel that was why nobody on earth dared come forward and stop their highhandedness. He appealed the world community to take cognizance of what is happening in Palestine and Kashmir so that humanity can be saved from exploitation.
In a related development, Peoples Democratic Party patron, Mufti Muhammad Sayeed,
urged prime minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, to use his good offices to push for an end to Israeli aggression. India being the largest democracy in the world should take a lead in brokering peace in the Middle East by mobilizing the world opinion in prevailing upon Israel to stop its aggression against the helpless Palestinians.
