GGF Organizes Seminar To Mark 95th B Anniversary Of Indira Gandhi
JAMMU – Paying tributes to former Prime Minister, Smt. Indira Gandhi on her 95th birth anniversary, the Minister of State for Power, CAP&D. Shabir Ahmad Khan today said that the late PM brought revolutionary changes in the country through her ideology based on socio, Political and economic justice.
The Minister was speaking at a seminar here today at Women College, Gandhi Nagar, organized by Gandhi Global Family(GGF) to commemorate the former Prime Minister on her 95th birth anniversary.
Shabir said that Smt. Gandhi worked all along her life for the betterment of the people, particularly belonging to poor sections of the society. He said her contribution for development and strengthening democratic set up in India would be remembered for a long time to come.
The Minister said Smt. Gandhi adhered to the quasi- socialist policies of industrial development started by her father, Pt Jawaher Lal Nehru.
Shabir asked the students to imbibe the ideology of the late leader and contribute their bit in making India a prosperous, civilized and developed country.
The students of various colleges participated in the symposium on life and work of Smt Indra Gandhi and highlighted her contribution in the development of nation.
Later, the Minister distributed certificates among the participating students, besides trophies to those who bagged Ist, 2nd and 3rd positions in the debate.
Awards were also given to various Gandhian Global Family Members, by the Minister, for their contribution in the field of social service.,
State Vice President, Gandhi Global Family, . S P Verma, while paying tributes to Smt Gandhi, highlighted the activities of the Gandhian Global family towards the all round development and welfare of the nation.
Principal, GWC, Kiran Bakshi, Joint Director Information, . Sojanyia Sharma and renowned members of Gandhi Global Family also spoke on the occasion and threw light on the life of the great leader.
Earlier, the Minister and other dignitaries offered flowers at the portrait of Indra Gandhi.
