DODA – District Development Commissioner, Doda, Farooq Ahmed Khan flagged off 28 orchardists from various blocks of district Doda for exposure visit/training of farmers to Himachal Pradesh.
The orchardists will not only interact with the progressive orchardists of that state, but will receive technical know how from the scientists of Palampur University and research station of Dr Y S Parmar University of Horticulture & Forestry.
The DDC stressed upon the farmers to adopt the latest technology of horticulture to increase the production and quality improvement, while implementing the various schemes and mechanisation available.
Chief Horticulture Officer Doda, Bipan Pandita has expressed that mechanisation of horticulture is becoming very essential in view of non availability of skilled labours and can increase the productivity.
Horticulture Development Officer Marmat, Ravinder Kumar will accompany the orchardists.
