SRINAGAR: The Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) has setup a grievance redress mechanism regarding issuance of Birth and Death Certificates by the Corporation.
According to Dr Shafqat Khan, Registrar Birth & Death, SMC, the citizens can dial: 0194-2474499 and Toll Free number: 1800-180-7038 and email queries on: [email protected], regarding any complaints or queries pertaining to Birth and Death Certificates.
Dr Khan said that the in view of the grievances of general public regarding issuance of birth and death certificates several steps have been taken for speedy issuance of the certificates through a Single Window System which shall minimize the time taken at various levels.
He said this has been done as a part of the e-governance initiative of the government for rendering smart services to citizens in a timely and transparent manner.
According to Dr Khan, the entire record of Institutional Births in Hospitals in Srinagar can be found and verified online on website: hudd.gov.in where certificates can be downloaded online.
